Reference is a service designed to provide personal assistance to Library users.
This service can help if you:
- want assistance using any library materials [including reference books,
print indexes/abstracts, CD-Roms, the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), or
microforms];
- need advice on where to turn for information;
- desire a tour of the library;
- have any question that you may not be able to answer with materials in the
library.
Stop by the Reference Desk. The Desk staffed during normal daytime
hours. The Public Services Librarian will provide assistance with your
information needs. When the Desk is not staffed, please go to the Circulation
Desk and ask for assistance.
Call the Public Services Librarian at
ext. 2370 and make an appointment, especially if know your reqeust may require
some time.
Make a request online by completing the Reference
Request Form.
The Library has several indexes; these may cover a specific publication, a very
specific subject, a field of study, or a broad range of subjects.
The most
recent issues are on located on the Index Tables near the curent periodical
shelves. Back issues are on the Reference Shelves.
Print Indexes and Abstracts provide better coverage in certain areas,
particularly if you are searching for articles which are more than ten years
old.
