After finishing out his college cross country career on top for the Bearcats, Matt can look back on his stellar season and be very pleased with imself and his performances.  Leading the Bearcats to their second consecutive NAIA National Cross Country Championship appearance, Matt finished 71st in a field of over 250 of the nations best with a time of 25:53.  Matt was also named Second Team All Confrence where he placed 9th overall. Last season,  he participated in the NAIA National Championship meet once again, placing 113th with a time of 26:53. He was also named to the AMC All-Academic team, and in track, he came in third place in the AMC Championships in the 10K with a time of 32:26.  At Erie's Cathedral Prep High School, Matt was a four-year letterwinner in both XC and track, and qualified for the 2001 PIAA State Championship meet in cross country.
