Nate has played a major role in the success of the Bearcats the past three seasons. In 2005, Nate was essential in the team's 20th place finish at the NAIA Cross Country National Championships placing 127th with a time of 26:34 and was honored as an Academic All-American. In 2004, he was Second Team All-Conference at the AMC Championships with a 14th place finish and was a part of the 20th place team finish at the NAIA Cross Country National Championships. In 2003, he was a strong asset to Andy Herr's inaugural squad by showing continuous improvement at each of the competitions throughout the season. At Hollidaysburg Area HS, he was the captain of both the swimming and cross country teams, and participated in the PIAA State Championships twice in cross-country and once in track.
