Saint Vincent men's cross country coach Dr. Andy Herr has announced that his team captains for the 2009 campaign will be seniors Shane Simmons and Ed Moss.

Both runners have enjoyed strong careers for the Bearcats over their first three years, and Dr. Herr said that they were obvious candidates for the role of team captain.

"Ed and Shane have been key contributors to the team over the past three years," said Herr.  "This year, each trained hard in the off-season and reported to camp in excellent shape.

"Each has shown outstanding leadership qualities, and their leadership will greatly contribute to the success of this year's team."

This weekend, the Bearcats will take part in the National Catholic Invitational at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN.  The team will then return to action next Saturday afternoon, hosting the annual Saint Vincent College Invitational.
