The Saint Vincent men finished fourth among 12 teams at the Westminster College Invitational to open the 2006 season. Steve Killa was the top Bearcat finisher, ending in a tie for second overall in the event, shooting a 76. Chris Zamais shot an 83 while Jason Jones and Matt Bronker each finished with 84's. Rounding out the top five teams were Allegheny (306), Malone (314), Carnegie Mellon (315), Saint Vincent (327), and Grove City (328). The event was held at the New Castle Country Club.

The Saint Vincent men defeated Grove City on the road by a score of 318-309. GC sophomore Tyler Fitch, the reigning Presidents' Athletic Conference Player of the Year, took top honors with a round of 74, but the next four finishers were Bearcats: Jason Jones (76), Matt Bronkar (77), Steve Killa (78) and Chris Zamias (78). Adam Agin shot an 83 to complete the SVC scoring.

The Saint Vincent Bearcats finished fourth among 8 teams in the two-day Peter C. Rossin Memorial Tournament at Washington & Jefferson College. Host W&J won the event with a team score of 604 (300-304), followed by Allegheny (615) and The University of Rochester (620). Saint Vincent was in third following the first day (315) but dropped to fourth with a team total of 644 after shooting 329 on the second day. Nazareth (648), Seton Hill (649), Westminster (674) and Thomas More (681) complete the field. Saint Vincent's Jason Jones finished 11th overall with rounds of 76-80 (156, +12). He was followed by Chris Zamias (77-84, 161), Steve Killa (85-79, 164), Matt Bronkar (81-86, 167), Erik Doran (81-87, 168) and Adam Agin (81-90, 171).

The Bearcats finished first in the 7-team SVC Invitational, held at the Glengarry Golf Links. Landon Etchings of Seton Hill University took first place overall with a 72. He was joined by teammate Nate Arvay, but Etchings shot a par 5 on the first playoff hole to win the title. Saint Vincent was led by Erik Doran, who shot a 73. Chris Zamias and Steve Killa each shot 74, while Matt Bronkar shot 76 for the Bearcats. The Saint Vincent men's golf team finished an impressive third among 15 teams in the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Invitational. The Bearcats, shooting a team 298, trailed only Clarion (294) and host IUP (296), and finished ahead of Saint Francis (PA), Bucknell, West Virginia Wesleyan and others. Chris Zamias led the team with a 73, good for sixth overall and only two strokes off the lead. Jason Jones shot a 74, followed by Erik Doran (75) and Steve Killa (76). The Saint Vincent men finished eighth among 10 teams competing in the Slippery Rock University/Bob Raymond Invitational, held at Oakview GC. Millersville University won the tournament with a score of 292. Saint Vincent shot 314 as a unit. Chris Zamias tied for 9th overall with a 4-over par 74. Erik Doran (77), Steve Killa (80), and Jason Jones (83) completed the scoring for the Bearcats.

The Saint Vincent men finished tenth in the 15-team Guy Kuhn Memorial Tournament in Meadville, hosted by Allegheny College. Chris Zamias was the highest finishing Bearcat, shooting rounds of 75-76, finishing 14th individually. Jason Jones (76-78), Adam Agin (78-78), Steve Killa (81-80), and Erik Doran (82-81) completec the SVC roster. The team's score was 622, just one stroke behind 9th place Westminster College. The tournament was won by Clarion University (597), followed by Waterloo (598), and IUP (603).

The Saint Vincent men finished 11th among 14 teams in the American Mideast Conference/NAIA Region IX Championships, held at the Apple Valley Golf Course in Cedarville, Ohio. The team shot 325-312-320 in the three-round, 54-hole tournament, for a team total of 957. Malone College won the event with a team score of 885. Erik Doran led Saint Vincent with a three-round total of 237 (82-75-80), good for 32nd place overall. Jason Jones (239/80-80-79), Adam Agin (240/79-77-84), Steve Killa (241/84-80-87) and Chris Zamias (/26386-88-89) completed the varsity roster. Doran and Jones earned individual awards, named All-AMC Scholar-Athletes.
