Treasurer – No report

Vice President’s Report – Hartbauer reported that we have 168 tickets left for the Dashboard concert.  We will need members of the senate to assist with the concert.

Secretary’s Report – Wojtila asked members to confirm information on the senate roster so it can be posted.

President’s Report – Stevens met with Caridi and Cline concerning the marketing campaign.  Cline suggested holding a slogan contest amongst the students.  America’s First Benedictine College is more of a tagline.  Senate debate followed as to if we should stress the Benedictine slogan or not.  Campbell motioned to arrange a meeting with Cline during the week since he will not attend a Sunday meeting.  Motion was approved.  The executive board recently met with Ken Brooks about senior pictures.  A picture package will be available to students for $35.  If students purchase this package, they will get the picture with the President at no additional cost.  SGA will receive 10% of any profits made.  The executive board had a meeting with Haas concerning registration.  It was suggested to split classes into scheduled increments to help registration go more smoothly.  After much debate it was motioned to keep scheduling as is.  Motion passed with majority vote.  Stevens asked if members of the senate had any ideas for Homecoming.  Suggestions were as follows:  Buffo the Clown, world’s largest banana split, smash an old car for a fundraiser, casino night, and more food booths/contests.  We are working on getting Bill Deasy for the concert.

Committee Reports – Food:  Conway reported that Jane will make sure the cafeteria gate does not get closed early.
Academic Affairs:  Fuhrman brought up teacher evaluation, and suggested possibly redoing the format.  Some suggestions were less objective questions and more essay, more open ended questions, and possibly evaluating on blackboard.
FMO:  Fiumara reported that Hendrick will continue to work on the cleaning issues in the residence halls.  They are also going to get dimmers for the lights in Melvin Platz.
Recreation:  Wojtila recently met with Zawacki.  She is going to get a new scale for the fitness center.  She would be more than happy to look into boxing equipment with SGA.  Working on finding a location for the equipment.

Issues from the floor – The temperature in the gym was extremely high this past week.  There is a large brown directions sign near Melvin Platz that is out of date.  There are ice patches on the pathway to St. Benedict and Rooney.  There is no garbage can in the Shack to throw away straw wrappers.  There is still no handicap access to Placid or the Carey Center.  It was questioned if security guards can issue breathalyzers.  Fischer reported that they could.  This is not currently in the handbook, but will be changed.

Motion to adjourn by Keeler, seconded by Smith.  Meeting adjourned at 8:44 PM.

Respectfully submitted by John Wojtila
