Saint Vincent College students and alumni are invited to attend the IUP Teacher Recruiting Fair slated for Tuesday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Memorial Field House. School districts from across the U.S. will be on hand to interview students and alumni for teaching positions. There may be some school districts present that attend the PERC Teacher Recruitment Fair; however, this event attracts a different mix of school districts including some Pennsylvania school districts that do not attend PERC. For instance, smaller Pennsylvania school districts that do not attend PERC due to the high registration cost are more likely to participate in the IUP event.
 
There is no pre-registration and admission is free.  The school district listing will soon be available on line at www.iup.edu/career. Unlike PERC with the open interviewing format, it is imperative that students arrive early for the IUP Fair. School districts’ schedules fill up rapidly. Between 10 to 10:30 a.m. is prime time for arranging interviews for the remainder of the day.   It would be advisable to review the lists of schools well in advance of the job fair to make a hit list. Review the school districts web sites and check out links to chambers of commerce that many school districts provide to get an idea of the demographics of the students.
