SVC Men's Basketball
D.P. Harris, Head Coach

A native of West Virginia, Coach Harris has made Saint Vincent College his home. "I really like the area and the people are fantastic." Before his arrival to Saint Vincent, Coach Harris coached at Wheeling Park High School and a season of College basketball at Ohio University Eastern. After six seasons as an assistant, D.P. has now posted a record of 126-42 in six seasons as Head Coach, including back-to-back NAIA National Tournament Sweet 16 appearances.

Known for his ability to recruit and a work ethic among the coaching fraternity as "relentless," he knows the meaning of hard work. "It's simple to me as a coach; you show up, and you don't leave until the work is done and done right. If it means showing up at 4:00 a.m. and working through lunch, then so be it."  The Bearcats, assisted and now coached by Harris, have been to five National Tournaments, including two Elite Eights, and two Sweet Sixteen appearances. They have also played in six Conference Championships. "The players win games, and if you get guys that want to work and are coachable, the program will be successful."

Harris has seen six of his players earn a total of nine All-American honors, while five players, including Tony Washam, Kenny Roberts, Jeff Mallory, Felix Indaye, and Rob Husar, have gone on to professional careers in Europe.

Coach Harris' eyes light up when people ask about the Carey Center. "What a great time to be at Saint Vincent College. The facility is one of the finest in college basketball and is a great addition for all students and student-athletes at the school."

Mike Iuzzolino, Associate Coach

Mike Iuzzolino, who is in his second year with the Bearcats, brings over a decade of professional experience both in the NBA and overseas.

A star in his hometown of Altoona, Mike was named First Team All State in 1986, and played in the Dapper Dan Roundball Classic.  After playing two years for Penn State University, he transferred to Saint Francis University in Loretto, and was a two-time First Team Academic All-American.  In 1991, he was the CoSIDA All-Academic Player of the Year.

Following his stellar college career, he was drafted in the second round (35th overall) by the Dallas Mavericks of the NBA and played two seasons.  A point guard, he averaged 9 points, 4.3 assists and 2 rebounds in 122 games. He ranked fourth in the NBA in 3-point percentage, shooting at a 43.4 percent clip (59-136) during the 1991-92 season.

He then played two seasons in the Continental Basketball Association before moving on to Italy's first division, where he spent the next six seasons.  He concluded his playing career after two seasons in Spain, then went into coaching.

Mike's first coaching experience came at Duquesne University, where he worked under Coach Dan Durkin.  After two years with the Lady Dukes, he spent one season as an assistant with George Mason University's women's program.

At Saint Vincent, he coordinates recruiting efforts, along with game preparation and working with the offense.

Jeff Mallory, Assistant Coach

Jeff Mallory returns to his alma mater as an assistant coach for the 2009-10 season.

A native of Bedford, VA, Mallory was a four-year starter for the Bearcats, helping to lead the team to three NAIA National Tournament appearances.  He set school records in blocked shots, and was the team's leading scorer during his senior season in 2005-06.

After graduating in 2006 with a degree in Public Policy, he sat out the 2006-07 due to injury before spending two seasons playing professionally in Spain.  As a member of CajaSur, he was a 2-year starter at power forward.

At Saint Vincent, he will work with the centers and forwards, and also work in academic support.  Jeff and his wife, Amy, reside in Unity Township.
