Tony Washam


2005

NAIA First Team All-America

Tony returned to the First Team for the second time in his career, after being named American Mideast Conference Player of the Year.  He finished the season as one of the top three scorers in the nation and the team made its fourth consecutive trip to the NAIA National Tournament, where he was again named to the All-Tournament Team. 

 

 

Kenny Roberts

2005

NAIA Second Team All-America

Kenny became only the third player in school history to reach as high as the national second team.  With Kenny running the offense, the Bearcats reached the NAIA National Tournament for the fourth consecutive year in 2005.  Roberts never missed a game in four years, starting all 121 games in his career, guiding the team to a 97-24 record.  Roberts averaged 15.6 points per game in 2005, along with 5.4 assists, and added 72 steals.

 

 

 

Tony Washam

2004

NAIA Second Team All-America

Tony was leading the nation in scoring when he broke his hand in mid-January, missing the final 11 games of the regular season. He returned to help lead the team to the conference tournament championship and a third straight appearance in the NAIA National Tournament. He finished the year with a 28.3 points per game average and grabbed 10.4 rebounds per game.

 

 

 

 

Kenny Roberts

2004

NAIA Third Team All-America

Kenny averaged 17.4 points per game during his junior year, along with 5.4 assists per game. The top point guard in the American Mideast Confernce, Roberts was also a First Team All-AMC choice. He reached 1000 career points midway through the year.

 

 

 

Tony Washam

2003

NAIA First Team All-America

Tony was the only sophomore in the nation during the 2002-03 season to make the All-America First Team. He averaged 24.3 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. He was the Player of the Year in the American Mideast Conference and the MVP of the Don Glick Memorial Tournament in Bridgewater, VA.

 

 

 

 

Terrance Smith

2000

NAIA Third Team All-America

While at SVC, Terrance set the all-time scoring record, becoming the first player
to surpass 1800 points.  

During his senior year in 2000, Terrance helped lead the team to the NAIA National Tournament.  He averaged 17.8 points per game and had a team-high 64 steals.

 

 

 

Armand Gage

1999

NAIA All-American

Armand averaged 18.8 points per game in 1998-99, along with 6.3 rebounds per game.

 

 

 

 

 

Daniel Santiago

1998

NAIA First Team All-America

Daniel was named the NAIA's Division I National Player of the Year following a stellar 1997-98 campaign in which he led the team to the Elite 8 of the national tournament. After playing the following year overseas, he became the first Saint Vincent player to ever join the National Basketball Association, first with the Phoenix Suns, later with the Milwaukee Bucks.

 

 

 

 

Marty Kohler

1995

NAIA All-American

Marty was a tremendous all-around player for the Bearcats.  He once had a near quadruple-double in a game, posting double digits in points, rebounds and steals, while adding 7 assists.

UPI All-American

In 1978, Mallah finished an excellent 2-year career with Saint Vincent, setting numerous scoring records.  He became the first player in school history to reach 1000 points in just two years.  He later played professionally overseas.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jack Kalbfus

1958

U.P.I. All-American

Jack was the first player in team history to achieve All-American status following his United Press International honors in 1958.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bernie Peterson

1959

A.P. All-American

Just one season after teammate Jack Kalbfus became an All-American, Peterson was honored by the Associated Press following the 1959 season.  Some of his free-throw records stood for more than 40 years at Saint Vincent.
