SVC Men's Cross Country
Andy Herr, Head Coach


Andy Herr enters his fifth year of coaching at Saint Vincent College, where he has been a member of the faculty since 1996.

Andy was a two-time high school state champion in Ohio, winning the cross country title in 1982 (15:08 for 5K) and the 3200 meter title on the track in 1983 (9:09).  He attended North Carolina State University, where he was a 3-time NCAA qualifier in cross country and an All-ACC performer in track.

Andy has continued to run competitively and qualified for the 2000 Olympic Trials in the marathon with a time of 2:21:26.

Steve Snider, Assistant Coach

Coach Snider begins his first year as an assistant cross country and track coach at Saint Vincent College. 

Snider brings a wealth of experience to the cross country team, having coached cross country and track at Greensburg Salem High School for 28 years. There, his 1993 girls cross country team won the PIAA State Championships, followed by a PIAA State Runner up finish in 1994. In all, Snider’s cross country teams won two WPIAL championships, 13 County Championships, and 16 Section Championships. He amassed a cross country dual meet record of 548-124.

In track, Snider’s teams were WPIAL Runner Up 6 times, won 4 County Championships and 11 Section Championships. His track dual meet record was 248-50.
