Saint Vincent's Doug Mehall finished first individually, and the Bearcats finished third as a team, at the 2009 Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by the Oak Tree Country Club in West Middlesex, PA. In 36 holes of play on the final day of the event, Mehall totaled a 72 on the first 18 and a 70 over the final 18 to finish with a cumulative score of an even-par 142, five strokes ahead of his closest competitor, Tom Ruzick of Thomas More College. Steve Fiori was SVC's second finisher, taking fourth overall with a score of 151 (77-74). Matt Bronkar finished 15th, firing a two-round total of 158 (76-82), while teammate Jeff Varga finished one shot behind for 16th (159 - 75-84). Mehall and Ruzick were named co-MVPs of the event, while Mehal and Fiori each earned PAC Coaches Honors, the equivalent of All-PAC recognition for athletes from provisional schools, like Saint Vincent. A total of 37 golfers from eight PAC schools participated in the event. Washington & Jefferson won the overall title, with a team score of 607, followed by Thomas More (609), SVC (610), Westminster (624), Grove City (636), Thiel (730), and Bethany (735).
