Jeff Varga shot a four-over 76 to lead the Bearcats to a fifth-place finish at the Westminster College Invitational. Varga, who shot identical 38's on the front and back nine, tied for second individually. Steve Fiori was SVC's second finisher, finishing with a score of 86 (44-42), good for 20th place, while Owen Barton and Sean Devlin each shot 90's to tie for 31st and Matt Bryan 91 for 32nd. As a team, the Bearcats finished with a cumulative score of 342, just one stroke behind fourth-place Edinboro (341). Malone won the event, finishing with a team score of 314, led by individual champion Michael Strayer's one-over 73. Rounding out the team scores, Grove City took second (324), followed by Westminster (333), Edinboro, SVC, Mercyhurst (349), Thiel (359), Bethany (363), and Point Park (370). The Bearcats will return to action on Sunday, participating in the two-day ECAC Championships at Iron Masters Country Club in Roaring Spring, PA.
