The Bearcats defeated Trine University on the road in Indiana by a score of 16-11.

The Thunder scored first, a little over four minutes into the game, but Saint Vincent answered with three goals -- by Ryan Kearney, Jake Dick and Zach Wilfong -- in the next six minutes, to take a 3-1 lead.  After Trine narrowed the gap to one, Dick and Vinnie DiSantis added two quick goals to make it 5-2.  Kearney's second goal ended the scoring in the first, with SVC up by a 6-3 tally.

Trine scored early in the second quarter, but it would be their only point before the half, and the Bearcats increased the lead to 10-4, led by a pair of goals from Pat Bursch.

The teams traded goals throughout much of the third quarter, with SVC carrying a 14-7 lead into the final 15 minutes.

Trine scored four more times in the fourth quarter, but Bursch had another two goals to keep SVC in front, and the Bearcats held on for the 16-11 win.

Bursch' five goals led the team, while Wilfong collected three goals and four assists.  Kearney had 4 goals and an assist, while Dick posted a pair of goals to go along with 2 assists.  DiSantis and Neil Quinn were the other SVC goal scorers.

Jon McMahon posted 13 saves in the net for Saint Vincent (2-3).

The Bearcats return to action against Wittenberg on Saturday at 1:00 in Latrobe.
