The Bearcats earned a 22-10 Senior Day victory over Medaille College in a game that saw Will DeLanoy set a new SVC record for points in a season by a freshan. The visiting Mavericks took the early lead, scoring twice in the game's first four minutes. SVC got back on track with goals from Pat Bursch and Ryan Kearney to tie the game. However, Medaille scored with 1:25 left in the quarter and held the lead after 15 minutes, 3-2. Saint Vincent's Kevin Vawter tied the game less than a minute into the second quarter, but the next two goals went to the visitors. Trailing 5-3, Saint Vincent then went on a tear, scoring eight unanswered goals to end the half and never looked back. In the third quarter, Saint Vincent outscored Medaille 7-1 and continued to keep up the pressure in the fourth, pulling away to a 12-goal victory. Delanoy, a freshman from Landsdale, PA, picked up a pair of assists early in the second quarter, then scored a goal with 4:22 left in the half. The goal, his first of four on the day, gave him a total of 56 points on the season, setting a new freshman school standard and erasing the mark set by Ian Poole back in 2003. Delanoy's six points led the Bearcat, while Jake Dick added three goals. Other goal scorers were Neil Quinn (2), Lou Fries (2), Ryan Kearney (2), Vawter (2), Bursch (2), Mike Fishman (1), Zach Wilfong (1), Vinnie DiSantis (1), Marty Teynor (1) and Alex Langton (1). Wilfong added five assists on the afternoon for Saint Vincent (5-8). Medaille drops to 6-8 with the loss. Jon McMahon earned the win in the net for Saint Vincent, posting 8 saves. The Bearcats will host nationally ranked Denison University on Tuesday at Chuck Noll Field.
