by Jeremy Smith The Bearcats lost a neutral-site match to St. John Fisher by a score of 17-11 at Johns Hopkins University.
Fisher (3-0) got off to a fast start, scoring at the 14 second mark of the 1st quarter. After a couple of Fisher goals, freshman Will Sellmayer got the Bearcats on the board. After trailing 8-1 after the first, the Bearcats stepped it up in the 2nd quarter. Junior Zach Wilfong and sophomores Pat Bursch and Jack Dick each scored in the 2nd, leading the Bearcats into the locker room down 11-4. Sophomore Jack Dick scored his second goal of the contest in the third. Freshmen Mike Diggs and Alex Langton also scored for the Bearcats in the quarter. The Bearcats outscored Fisher 4-3 in the fourth quarter, with Bursch added two more goals, bringing his total for the day to three. Dick also scored his third of the contest and Sellmayer added another to round out the scoring. St. John Fisher was lead in scoring by Chris Schmidt, who tallied six goals. The Bearcats (0-2) will open their home season on March 10th against Mount Saint Joseph at 4:00.
