The Bearcats' first game on Saint Vincent's new artificial turf was a success, as they downed visiting Washington & Jefferson 21-9.

Ten different players scored at least one goal for the Bearcats, while six had two or more, led by six from Will Delanoy and four from Pat Bursch.  Delanoy added a pair of assists for an eight-point day, while Ryan Kearney finished with six points, on two goals and four assists.

SVC jumped out to a fast start, with Jake Dick opening the scoring on an unassisted tally just two minutes into play.  W&J tied the score a minute later, but the Bearcats stormed back, scoring five of the game's next six goals over the final eight minutes of the first quarter, including three from Delanoy in a 90-second span, and the hosts led 7-2 after 15 minutes of play.

Delanoy and Bursch each scored in the first two minutes of the second quarter, pushing SVC ahead 9-2.  The Presidents then scored a pair of unanswered tallies, before Bursch scored twice more and Zach Wilfong once, giving SVC a 12-4 halftime lead.

The Bearcats then opened up the third quarter in the same fashion as the second, with Bursch and Delanoy finding the net over the first two minutes of play to put the hosts ahead 14-4. Kearney, Vincenzo DiSantis, and Nick Aspiotes all scored for SVC over the final nine minutes of the third quarter, and the Bearcats entered the final stanza ahead 17-7.

SVC defender Marty Teynor started the fourth quarter off in fine fashion, going coast-to-coast to score his first collegiate goal, while the Bearcats were a man down due to penalty, at the 12:40 mark.  The hosts then cruised down the stretch, with Delanoy, Wilfong, and Kevin Vawter scoring late insurance goals, helping SVC snap its three-game losing streak and improve to 3-6 on the season.

Wilfong and Dick each scored two goals for the Bearcats, with Wilfong adding two assists.  SVC goalie Jon McMahon was strong between the pipes, making nine saves, while the Bearcats owned a 43-32 advantage in shots.  Clark Williams paced the Bearcats with seven ground balls, while Mike Diggs and Brendan Cannon each tallied six.

The Presidents (4-4) were led on the scoresheet by Zach Devilbiss, who tallied four goals on the day, while Jackson Doyle added a pair.

Saint Vincent will now return to action on Wednesday, traveling to Ohio Wesleyan University for a 4pm contest.
