The Bearcats were outscored 7-4 in the final quarter, losing to Adrian College on the road by a score of 13-12.

Saint Vincent scored first, with Zach Wilfong scoring at the 11:22 mark of the first quarter.  After Adrian College tied the game, Lou Fries put SVC ahead 2-1, then Wilfong added a pair of goals that made it 4-1 with 3:36 left in the first.  The Bulldogs added a goal less than a minute later that made it 4-2 at the end of the first.

In the second quarter, SVC again scored the first goal, as Jake Dick's goal less than 90 seconds into play made it 5-2.  However, Adrian scored three unanswered goals over the next 10 minutes, tying the game at 5-5 with 3:43 left in the half.

Saint Vincent returned fire quickly, with Vinnie DiSantis scoring an unassisted goal at the 2:45 mark, athen Will DeLanoy set up a goal by Will Selmayer with just 52 seconds remaining, and the Bearcats took a 7-5 lead into the halftime break.

The game turned into a defensive battle in the third, with each team posting just one goal.

The Bearcats started quickly in the fourth quarter, with Ryan Kearney scoring just ten seconds into play to make it 9-6.  However, Adrian scored the next three goals to tie the game, 9-9, with 11:56 left to play.  DeLanoy scored at the 8:36 mark to give the Bearcats the lead once again, but the celebration was short-lived, as the Bulldogs' Ryan Knautz tied it up at 10-10 just 18 seconds later.

Knautz then took over the game, scoring three more goals over the next five minutes to give the hosts a 13-10 lead.

With less than two minutes left, SVC's Vinnie DiSantis fired a shot past the Adrian goalie, but the goal was waved off, as the officials determined that a Bearcat player was inside the crease.  Kearney scored with 18 seconds left in the game, and DeLanoy connected as the horn sounded to end the game, and the Bearcats settled for a 13-12 loss.

On the day, Wilfong led the team with six points, tallying four goals and a pair of assists.  Kearney had two goals and an assist, as did DeLanoy, who missed part of the game after suffering an ankle injury in the second quarter.  Jake Dick and Lou Fries each had a goal and an assist, while Jon McMahon made 14 saves in the net for Saint Vincent (1-3).

The Bearcats will play on the road in Indiana on Sunday, taking on Trine University at 1:00.
