The Saint Vincent Bearcats defeated visiting Tri State University by a score of 12-1. SVC jumped to a 5-0 lead with a strong first quarter, led by a pair of goals by Evan Chateauneuf. The Bearcats added one goal in the second, as Jarrid Johnson tallied his second goal of the day. The hosts led 8-1 after three quarters, then tacked on four more goals in the final panel for the victory. In addition to Chateauneuf and Johnson, Luke Swerdlow scored twice for the Bearcats (2-3). Other goal scorers were Ryan Kearney, Jake Dick, Jason Powell, Pat Bursch, TJ Roney and Mark Duman. Assists went to Chateauneuf, Gavin Bates (2), Swerdlow, Johnson, Bursch, Vinnie DiSantis, Powell and Brendan Egan. Jon McMahon played well for the first 53 minutes in goal and recorded 14 saves. He gave way to freshman Nick Kunz, who made three saves on close range shots in the final 7 minutes. Tri State, a first year program coached by former Bearcat Bryan Poole, drops to 0-6 with the loss.
