Saint Vincent senior Ben Fecik has been named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District team. Student athletes with a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or higher who made significant contributions on the soccer field are eligible for the ESPN The Magazine academic honors, with voting conducted by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Fecik wrapped up his career at Saint Vincent with a stellar season. The forward finished the 2009 season with 11 goals and a team-leading 11 assists, good for 33 points. For his career, he finished with 88 career points, fourth all-time in the 43-year history of Saint Vincent men's soccer. Fecik was selected to the College Division District II All-District team, which encompasses all Division II, III, and NAIA schools in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, and Delaware. A Finance major and perennial Deans List selection, Fecik is the first soccer player in SVC history to receive the honor. It's the latest in a host of honors accumulated by the Pittsburgh native for his career, as he has previously received PAC all-conference Coaches Honors in each of his first three seasons at Saint Vincent.
