The visiting Bearcats were defeated 3-0 by a tough Baldwin-Wallace squad in a rainy contest in Cleveland, OH.

The Bearcat defense, led by goalie Jacob Gilbertson and defenders Dean Jordan and Matt Fecik, played strong, but SVC was unable to muster enough offense, as the team was out-shot 24-5.

B-W opened the scoring in the game's 33rd minute, scoring off of a cross into the middle of the box.  The score remained 1-0 until five minutes into the second half, when the hosts converted a one-time in front, again off of a cross, to go ahead by two goals.

Baldwin-Wallace added a final insurance marker with 30 minutes remaining, on a blast from 18-yards out that ricocheted off the crossbar and into the goal.

"Jacob, Matt, and Dean all played strong the entire game," said SVC head coach Keith Harmon.  "We were fortunate we were down just one heading into halftime."

While he lauded the play of his defense, Harmon also thought that his senior forward tandem of Luis Rodriguez and Ben Fecik played well, despite not seeing many prime scoring chances.

"Ben and Luis played hard the entire game," Harmon said.  "We just could not get them the ball at the right times."

The Bearcats (3-8-1) will look to end their three-game losing streak on Saturday afternoon, when they open up Presidents' Athletic Conference play with a 1pm contest at Bethany College.
