A pair of Saint Vincent senior forwards have been selected to the All-ECAC South team for the 2009 season. Senior Ben Fecik was named to the ECAC All-South First Team, while his classmate, Luis Rodriguez, earned ECAC All-South Second Team honors. The pair are the first two in team history to receive this recognition. Fecik, a native of Pittsburgh, PA and graduate of Plum High School, enjoyed a prolific season up front for the Bearcats. He started and appeared in 17 games, scoring 11 goals with 12 assists, good for 34 points. His 12 assists led the Presidents' Athletic Conference, while he ended the year fifth in the league in goals and second in points-per-game. It's the third postseason honor received by Fecik, as he was previously named to the ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District squad, and also received PAC Coaches Honors for the fourth straight season. Rodriguez, a native of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, also ended his career in fine fashion, finishing second in the PAC in both goals (15) and points (35), while also adding five assists. It was the third straight season he led the Bearcats in goals, and the 15 were the fourth most scored in a single season. He ended his career in third-place all-time in school history in both goals (47) and points (106). Rodriguez was also a 2009 PAC Coaches Honors recipient for the third straight season. The ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference) named 22 players to the All-South squad, with the South region composed of approximately 40 NCAA Division-III schools located in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and southern New York. The South Region Offensive Player of the Year award was given to Carngie Mellon University forward Ricky Griffin, while the Defensive Player of the Year went to Neumann's Zach Sell.
