Senior Luis Rodriguez scored a goal to become just the fourth player in team history to record 100 career points, but it wasn't enough, as the Bearcats saw their five-game unbeaten streak snapped with a 3-2 loss at Grove City.

The host Wolverines tallied the first five shots of the game, but the Bearcats got on the board first, with Jim Vargo notching his first goal of the season with just over 15 minutes left until halftime.

The Wolverines answered back quickly, with Austin Bernal scoring on a one-timer just three minutes later.  The score remained knotted at one through halftime.

Grove City came out of the intermiession strong, taking a 2-1 lead just two minutes into the second half when Alex Ayer put in a loose ball from the doorstep.  The Wolverines continued to press, but SVC goalie Clemente Mejia was strong throughout the middle stages of the second half, making a number of point-blank saves to keep SVC's deficit at one goal.

With 23 minutes left in regulation,  Rodriguez was pulled down  from behind in front of the cage, and entered the history books when he buried the penalty kick goal to tie the game at 3-3.  The goal, his 14th of the season, gave him his 100th and 101st career points.

Again, Grove City countered, going up 3-2 with an unassisted Andrew Quinn goal in the 70th minute, knocking in a rebound into the corner of the net.

SVC tried to press over the final stages of the game, putting on four shots over the final five minutes, but the Bearcats were unable to rie it up a second time, and were sent home to Latrobe with the defeat.

The Wolverines owned a 27-14 advantage in shots, and took 13 corner kicks compared to SVC's three.  Mejia was solid in goal despite the defeat, posting a career-high 11 saves.

The Bearcats (7-9-2) will return to action on Saturday afternoon, hosting Geneva College in a 3pm Senior Day matchup on the SVC turf.
