Nationally ranked Thomas More College defeated Saint Vincent by a score of 2-0 in a hard-fought battle on the SVC turf. The teams played evenly throughout the first half, reaching the end of 45 minutes in a scoreless tie. Thomas More recorded eight first half shots while the Bearcats countered with five. The teams continued to trade shots in the second half, with neither team able to find the back of the net. However, in the 75th minute, a Bearcat defender attempted to clear a corner kick by Thomas More's Dan Miller, and the ball was inadvertently knocked into the Saint Vincent net, for an own goal. Five minutes later, Saint Vincent was called for a foul inside the 18-yard box, resulting in a penalty kick. Miller planted the ball in the lower left corner to give the Saints an insurance goal, and the game ended with a 2-0 score. For the game, the Bearcats were out-shot 16-11 by the Saints, with both teams posting two shots on goal. With the win, Thomas More improves to 15-2 on the season, while Saint Vincent ends the year with a record of 7-11-2.
