The Bearcats opened up the 2008-09 campaign with a 155-100 win over visiting Penn State-Altoona.
In the first event of the day, the SVC 200yd medley relay squad, consisting of Adam Thomas, Matt Snelick, Eric Clouse, and Troy Linebaugh, picked up the victory, finishing with a time of 1:43.13, nearly three seconds ahead of PSU-Altoona.
It was the first of three victories of which Linebaugh was a part of, as he won the 50yd freestyle (23.55) and contributed to SVC's victorious 200yd freestyle relay squad, along with Jon Okonak, Kyle Kuklewski, and Greg Jackson.
Clouse, Okonak, and Zack Krejdovsky were all two-time winners on the day for the Bearcats.
With a time of 2:14.84, Clouse captured first place in the 200yd butterfly, and Okonak's time of 49.95 seconds was good for first place in the 100yd freestyle.
Krjedovsky captured a pair of individual wins, taking first in the 100yd backstroke with a time of 1:00.78 and winning the 500yd freestyle with a time of 5:14.38.

The Bearcats came up short in a close meet at Wheeling Jesuit, losing by a score of 138-124. SVC
just missed in the opening event, the 200 Medley Relay, as the team of
Adam Thomas, Matt Snelick, Eric Clouse and Jon Okonak finished in
1:44.87, just over a second behind WJU. Zack Krejdovsky earned
the Bearcats' first win of the day, with a 10:53.91 win in the 1000
Free, more than 13 seconds ahead of the nearest rival. Adam Hodnichak
was fourth, timed in 11:28.42. Krejdovsky also won the 200 Backstroke in 2:12.90, with Thomas finishing second (2:14.72).
In the 200 Free, Dan Brett picked up a second place finish in 1:59.85. Kreighton Long (2:03.44) was fourth. Thomas
was a second place finisher in the 100 Backstroke, timed in 1:00.97.
Greg Jackson (1:05.22) was third and Travis Kinney (1:09.40) was fourth. Snelick
was a second place finisher in his first individual event of the day,
the 100 Breaststroke, timed in 1:06.07. Dan Kostovny was third in
1:07.14. In the 200 Butterfly, Clouse took second place with a
2:11.72 effort. Later in the day, he was second in the 100 Butterfly
as well (56.30). He also competed in the 200 IM, finishing a team-best
fourth (2:17.37). Okonak was a winner in the 50 Free, timed in
22.92, while Troy Linebaugh was second in 23.92. The duo returned to
take second and third, respectively, in the 100 Free. Okonak covered
the 100 yards in 52.19, just .15 behind the winner, while Linebaugh's
time was 53.94. Dan Kostovny picked up a Bearcat win in the 200 Breaststroke, in 2:26.20, just ahead of teammate Snelick (2:26.56). In the 500 Free, Krejdovsky suffered his first defeat of the day, finishing second in 5:17.16, while Brett was third in 5:22.86. The team ended the day with a win in the 400 Free Relay, as the team of Linebaugh, Jackson, Thomas and Okonak won in 3:30.46.

The Bearcats returned to winning form, defeating Penn State-Behrend 144-115 at SVC's Resnik Pool. SVC
captured the win in the day's first event, as Zack Krejdovsky, Matt
Snelick, Eric Clouse, and Jon Okonak teamed up to win the 200yd Medley
Relay in a time of 1:43.49. Snelick picked up individual wins in
both the 100yd and 200yd Breaststroke, with times of 1:05.32 and
2:25.40, while Clouse touched first in the 100yd and 200yd Butterfly
(times of 55.84 and 2:14.80). Okonak captured first place in the
100yd Freestyle with a time of 50.17 seconds, and Krejdovsky won the
500yd Freestyle in 5:12.26. The Bearcats also took the win in the 1,000yd Freesytle, with Dan Brett touching first in a time of 11:00.78.

It came down to the final event, but the Bearcat swimmers were victorious over visiting Mount Union College 135-127. The
Bearcats trailed 125-123 before taking first and third places in the
day's final event - the 400 Freestyle relay- to win the meet. The
hosts started the day off in fine fashion, with Zack Krejdovsky, Matt
Snelick, Eric Clouse, and Jon Okonak teaming up to win the first event
- the 400 Medley Relay- with a time of 3:52.12, a three second
advantage over the Raiders. After Bearcats took second place in
each of the next three events (1650 Free- Krejdovsky; 200 Free - Andre
Maldonado; 100 Back - Adam Thomas), Snelick picked up the individual
win in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:06.15, just two-tenths of
a second ahead of teammate Dan Kostovny. Okonak then touched
first in the 50 Free, with a time of 22.88, before being edged in the
100 Free by teammate Maldonado, who finished in 51.36 seconds. Krejdovsky
earned four points for the second place finish in the 500 Free, with a
time of 5:12.33, before Clouse captured first in the 100 Fly,
finishing with a time of 55.54 seconds, seven seconds ahead of his
closest competitor. After Clouse was edged out in the 200
Intermediate Medley, Mount Union took a 124-122 lead heading into the
day's finale, the 400 Free Relay. Through the first two legs,
the Raiders held a two-second advantage, before Troy Linebaugh made up
the difference by turning in a time of 24.17 in the third leg, giving
SVC a 0.6 second advantage. Maldonado, swimming anchor, wrapped up his
solid day by swimming the final two lengths in 24.14 seconds, giving
the Bearcats the event by a 3:24.92 - 3:25.59 advantage and the meet by
a 135-127 score.

The Bearcats lost on the road to a tough Grove City College Wolverine team by a score of 160-108. Senior Dan Brett earned Saint Vincent's only individual win on the night, capturing the 1000 Free in 10:55.31. Matt
Snelick was a second place finisher in the 100 Breaststroke, timed in
1:05.45. He later returned to finish second in the 200, with a time of
2:22.83. Jon Okonak (23.13) took second in the 50 Free, while
Troy Linebaugh and Andre Maldonado (23.46) tied for third. Eric Clouse
finished second in the 100 Free (52.48) with Kyle Kuklewski finishing
third in 53.38.

The Bearcats finished in 11th place at the three-day College of Wooster Invitational, facing a tough field of competitors.
SVC finished with a team score of 497 in the event, which was won by Wooster which tallied 2,552 points.
The Bearcats had a pair of teams entered in the 200 Free Relay. The "A" squad, consisting of Troy Linebaugh, Andre Maldonado, Kyle Kuklewski and Jon Okonak, turned in a 13th-place finish, with a time of 1:31.03.
SVC's "B" team of Greg Jackson, Adam Thomas, Kyle Anderson, and Kirk Selembo took 17th place with a time of 1:33.97.
In the 500 Free, Zack Krejdovsky was SVC's top finisher, with a 20th place time of 5:01.93. Teammate Dan Brett finished closely behind, taking 23rd with a time of 5:07.79. During the morning prelims, Krejdovsky entered the school record books with a record time of 5:01.11.
Jon Okonak earned a 19th-place finish with a time of 22.51 seconds in the 50 Free.
In the 400 Medley Relay, the Bearcats again had a pair of teams participate. The "A" squad of Krejdovsky, Matt Snelick, Eric Clouse, and Maldonado turned in a time of 3:48.75, good for 17th place. The Bearcat "B" team of Thomas, Anderson, Kuklewski, and Mike Azzarello finished with a time of 4:05.65, good for 20th.
Krejdovsky secured a 14th-place finish in the 400 Individual Medley, turning in a time of 4:44.14, while Brett's time of 4:52.33 was good for 21st.
Eric Clouse led SVC in both the 100yd and 200yd Butterly, finishing 13th in each. Matt Snelick led the way in the 100 Breast, taking 24th with a time of 1:04.78.
In the 800 Free Relay, the SVC "A" team of Okonak, Clouse, Maldonado, and Krejdovsky earned a 14th-place finish with a time of 7:39.38, while a second Bearcat team, consisting of Brett, Adam Hodinchak, Kreighton Long, and Kirk Selembo, finished in 17th with a time of 7:54.35.
Krejdovsky and Brett finished 13th and 15th, respectively, in the 1,650 Free, and Okonak led the way in the 100 Free, taking 17th place with a time of 49.43 seconds.
In the 400 Free Relay, Selembo, Maldonado, Okonak and Clouse teamed up to earn 13th place, while SVC's two teams in the 200 Free Relay turned in strong performances. Maldonado, Kuklewski, Linebaugh, and Okonak finished in fifth (1:31.26), and Clouse, Thomas, Jackson, and Selembo earned seventh with a time of 1:33.59.

The Bearcats were victorious in their first meet of the 2009 calendar year, defeating visiting Bethany College 114-57 at the Resnik Pool.
Saint Vincent swimmers captured first place in the first 12 events of the day, with Eric Clouse leading the way with a pair of individual victories, touching first in the 100 Back, with a time of 1:00.96, and the 100 Butterfly (55.91 seconds).
It was a clean sweep in the freestyle events for SVC, with Dan Brett earning first in the 1000 yard race, with a time of 10.51.18, Troy Linebaugh winning the 200 yard in 2:00.58, Andre Maldonado the 100 yard (52.26 seconds), and Jon Okonak the 50 yard (22.45 seconds).
Adam Thomas captured first place in the 200 Back, with a time of 2:13.58, while Matt Snelick took first in the 200 Breast, finishing in 2:26.78.
The closest event of the day was the 100 Breast, as SVC's Kyle Anderson edged teammate Kyle Kuklewski for the win by one tenth of a second, with the winning time 1:11.79.
The Bearcats also earned a first-place finish in the 400 Medley Relay, finishing in a time of 4:03.43.

For the second time this season, the Bearcat men were lifted to
victory by a win in the day's final event. This time, they defeated
West Virginia Wesleyan College on the road by a score of 134-126. Earlier
in the day, Jon Okonak was a winner in the 200 Free, timed in 1:55.02,
while Dan Brett earned a second place finish in the 100 Free (10:47.75). In
the 100 Back, Adam Thomas took second with a time of 1:00.86, while
Matt Snelick finished second in the 100 Breast (1:04.66) and Eric
Clouse took second in the 200 Butterfly (2:13.85). Okonak later returned to finish second in the 100 Free, in a time of 50.56, while Thomas was second in the 200 Back (2:15.32). Snelick
then tightened the score with a win in the 200 Breast (2:26.53), and
Zack Krejdovsky scored the win in the 500 Free (5:09.49), just 3
seconds ahead of Brett, who finished second. Clouse made the score
even closer by winning the 100 Butterfly in 55.74. The meet then
came down to the final event, the 400 Free Relay. The Bearcat team of
Okonak, Kirk Selembo, Kyle Kuklewski and Andre Maldonado held off the
West Virginia Wesleyan "A" squad by 19/100 of a second, 3:26.64 to
3:26.83, to win the event and the meet.

The Bearcats were defeated 116-82 by a strong Washington & Jefferson squad at the Resnik Pool.
Despite the score, SVC received a number of strong performances in its 2009 home finale.
Eric Clouse, swimming in his final meet at the Resnik Pool, picked up the Bearcats' first win of the night, finishing the 100 Fly with a victorious time of 55.29 seconds. He also earned a third-place finish in the 200 Free (1:55.35).
The hosts swept the 500 Freestyle, with another senior, Dan Brett, winning with a time of 5:15.28, while teammates Adam Hodnichak took second and Kreighton Long third.
Matt Snelick earned the individual win in the 100 Breast, with a time of 1:04.59, while teammate Dan Kostovny finished second and Kyle Kuklewski third.
Another four-year member of the squad, Jon Okonak, also enjoyed a solid night, picking up second place finishes in the 50 Free (22.61) and the 100 Free, finishing in 49.69 seconds, just .06 seconds behind W&J's Andy Rish.
Okonak was also part of SVC's 200 Free Relay squad, alongside teammates Kirk Selembo, Troy Linebaugh, and Andre Maldonado, which finished with a time of 1:31.78, just four-tenths of a second behind W&J.
In the evening's other relay event, the 200 Medley, SVC's team of Clouse, Snelick Linebaugh, and Zack Krejdovsky finished second, with a time of 1:44.71.

The Bearcats lost on the road to Westminster College by a score of 150-103.
Zach Krejdovsky finished second in the 1000 Free for the Bearcats, timed in 11:14.93. Kreighton Long was third, less than 1/10 of a second behind Krejdovsky.
In the 200 Butterfly, Eric Clouse finished second in 2:12.19, while Jon Okonak was second in the 50 Free (22.92).

The Bearcats finished in fifth place at the three-day Presidents' Athletic Conference championships hosted by Grove City.
Saint Vincent finished with a total team score of 230.5, to finish fourth out of five PAC schools, and fifth out of 10 schools overall, as five members of the Allegheny Mountain Conference also participated.
On day one, the Bearcats started in fine fashion, as the 200 Free Relay squad of Andre Maldonado, Troy Linebaugh, Kirk Selembo, and Jon Okonak set a new school mark with a time of 1:29.82 in the prelims. In the event's final, the foursome turned in a fourth place finish.
A new school record was set in the 500 Free by Dan Brett, who turned in a time of 4:57.50 in the prelims before taking 14th in the finals with a time of 4:59.81. Zack Krejdovsky finished right behind Brett, taking 15th with a time of 5:02.43.
In the preliminaries for the 50 Free, Okonak broke his own record with a time of 22.17 seconds, and then finished 12th in the finals, touching in 22.22 seconds. Teammate Kyle Kuklewski took 14th in the event, with a time of 23.15 seconds.
The 400 Medley Relay squad of Krejdovsky, Selembo, Adam Thomas, and Matt Snelick turned in a time of 3:55.88 in the finals, good for sixth place, while in the 200 IM, Maldonado finished with a time of 2:10.00, good for 16th place.
Day two started with the 200 Medley Relay, and Thomas, Snelick, Okonak, and Kyle Kuklewski teamed up for a fourth-place time of 1:42.27.
Brett and Krejdovsky finished 11th and 12th, respectively, in the 400 IM, while Okonak followed with a ninth place finish in the finals of the 100 Fly.
Maldonado led the Bearcats with a 16th-place finish in the 200 Free, while Snelick took 11th in the 100 Breast and Thomas 15th in the 100 Back.
The day wrapped up with the 800 Free Relay, and Okonak, Maldonado, Brett, and Krejdovsky combined for a sixth place finish with a time of 7:30.70.
On the final day, Brett started things off with a 10th-place time in the 1650 Free (17:29.00), with Krejdovsky finishing closely behind in 11th (17:45.75) and Adam Hodnichak 12th (17:58.02).
Thomas led SVC with a 13th place performance in the 100 Back, Mike Azzarello 12th in the 200 Fly, and Matt Snelick 11th and Dan Kostovny 13th in the 200 Breast.
In the final event of the weekend, the 400 Free Relay, Okonak, Selembo, Kuklewski, and Maldonado teamed up to earn fourth place with a time of 3:22.20.
Grove City College won the championship, finishing with 949 points, followed by Westminster (805.5), and Washington & Jefferson (612). Bethany rounded out the PAC schools with a score of 62.
