The Bearcats opened up the 2009-10 season with a 133-118 loss to Division-II Wheeling Jesuit University.

Making his collegiate debut, Casey Whittaker turned in a strong performance on the afternoon.  The freshman began the day by finishing first in the 200 Free, with a time of 1:53.00, before turning in a third-place time of 52.79 in the 100 Free.

Whittaker also teamed up with Kirk Selembo, Adam Thomas, and Troy Linebaugh to post a second-place finish in the 400 Free Relay, with a time of 3:34.48.

In the 1,000 Free, Zack Krejdovsky finished second, timed in 11:25.02, whil the Bearcats received third-place individual finishes by Matt Snelick (100 Breast), Dan Kostovny (200 Breast), Tom Nielsen (100 Back), Logan Dorminey (50 Free and 200 IM), and Thomas (200 Back).

The Bearcats (0-1) will now have a two-week layoff before returning to action on November 7th, when they will travel to Penn State-Behrend for a tri-meet along with Baldwin Wallace College.
