The Bearcat men finished 8th among 9 teams at the Wooster Invitational, held at the Ellen Shapiro Natatorium.

Freshman Joe Bruzda led the way for SVC, breaking his own school records in the 400 IM and 200 Backstroke on his way to fourth and fifth place finishes, respectively.  He also finished 10th in the 500 Free.

Junior Eric Clouse also set a school record in the 200 Fly, placing seventh.  Clouse also posted a 9th place finish in the 100 Fly, where he made the ECAC cut with a 54.40.

Jon Okonak finished 18th in the 50 Free, 19th in the 100 Free, and 15th in the 100 Fly.  Zack Krejdowsky was 11th in the 1650 Free and 14th in the 500 Free.

The Bearcats also had several top efforts in relay swims over the weekend, just missing several school records.

“This was the best overall weekend we have ever had at the Wooster Invite," said Coach Josh Gurekovich.  "I am very proud of the team with how they performed against some of the best teams in the nation.”

The Bearcats will return to competition on January 19th, when they travel to Bethany College for a Presidents Athletic Conference meet.
