The men's track team opened their 2007 campaign in the Clarion Invitational, which was moved to California University of PA due to weather conditions. Nate Sylvester had the top performance of the day, taking first place in the 3000 Steeplechase, timed in 10:12.20. Thad Pajak finished third in the event, with a time of 10:32.75. In the 1500 meters, Adam Smith finished seventh (4:10.65), while Wayne Hooper was 20th (4:29.33). Jim Vargo took 15th in the 800 meters, with a time of 2:07.93, while Josh Meny posted a time of 17:18 in the 5000.

Adam Smith took second in the 5000 meters, timed in 15:13.08. He finished 20 seconds better than the qualifying time needed for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships, which will take place in May. Josh Meny (17th, 17:14) and Mike Wong (18th, 17:30) also competed in the 5000. In the 3000 Steeplechase, Nate Sylvester finished fourth, timed in 9:56.70, while Thad Pajak was sixth, in 10:28.10. Jim Vargo finished 23rd in the 800 meters, timed in 2:07.16.

Bearcat junior runner Wayne Hooper took first place in two events at the Grove City College Invitational.
Competing against runners from Grove City, Westminster, and Geneva, Hooper won the overall title in the 800m run with a time of 2:03, and in the 1,500m run, finishing with a 4:14.66.
The Bearcats owned the competition in the 800m, with three teammates joining Hooper among the top seven finishers.
Jim Vargo came in second with a 2.05, Shane Anderton fourth with a 2:12, and Mike Wong sixth with a 2:22.
Wong also joined Hooper as a top finisher in the 1,500m run, taking seventh place with a time of 4:30.26. SVC's Shane Simmons finished third in the 5,000m run, turning in a time of 17:32. Thaddeus Pajak's 10:33 was good for second in the 3,000m steeplechase. Nate Sylvester was leading the event through four laps, but suffered a hamstring injurty and had to drop out of the race. In relay competition, Anderton, Pajak, Hooper, and Vargo teamed up to finish third in the 4 X 400m with a time of 3:47.

Adam Smith represented Saint Vincent at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic, finishing in the top half of a competitive 5000 meter field. Smith ran 15:07.47, finishing 44th in a field of 100 runners. His time was nearly 26 seconds under the ECAC qualifying time of 15:07.47, and was the fastest 5000 meter time of any PAC runner by nearly 20 seconds.

Several members of the Bearcat track team participated in the ELETE Open held at Indiana University of PA. Adam Smith finished third in the 5000 meters, timed in 15:53.26. Teammates Thad Pajak was fifth, in 17:01.61. Pajak also finished fifth in the 3000 Steeplechase, with a time of 10:28.30. Smith was a fifth place finisher in the 1500, timed in 4:06.29.

Several Bearcats recorded personal bests in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships. Due to its provisional status with the NCAA as a first-year school, scores for SVC, along with scores from Geneva College, were not officially recorded. Adam Smith crossed the wire second in both the 1500 and 5000 meters, with times of 4:10.47 and 15:35.99, respectively. Shane Anderton was 5th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:03.27, while Thad Pajak was 5th in the 5000 with a time of 16:07.56. Wayne Hooper crossed the line 6th in the 1500 with a time of 4:18.58. The 4 X 400 meter relay team (Craig Anderton, Jim Vargo, Shane Anderton, and Wayne Hooper) was 6th with a time of 3:37.84, a season's best.. More than half of the team's performances on the day were season's-best times, including: Shane Anderton (2:03.27), Jim Vargo (2:06.11), Mike Wong (2:15.20) and Rodney Young (2:19.09) in the 800, Young (4:44.10) in the 1500, Pajak, Shane Simmons (17:27.70), and Tim O'Mara (17:39.03) in the 5000.

SVC sophomore Adam Smith finished fourth in the 5000 meter event at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships, held at SUNY-Oneonta. Smith's time of 15:08.52 placed him fourth among 12 elite runners that had qualified for the ECAC Finals.
