Competing in the Washington & Jefferson Invitational, the Bearcats saw six new school records set.

Four runners also qualified for the 2008 Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships, while five qualified for the prestigious Bucknell University Bison Open, which will be held this weekend.

Scott Steel set a pair of school records in hurdle events, as he finished first overall in the 110m High Hurdles (and qualified for the ECAC's) with a time of 15.49 seconds.  He also entered the SVC record books in the 400m Intermediate Hurdles, finishing with a time of 1:00.21, good for tenth.

Wayne Hooper's third place time of 4:02.67 in the 1500m run set a new school mark, and qualified the senior for both Bucknell and the ECAC's.  Craig Anderton took second place with a school-record time of 1:55.66 in the 800m, also qualifying for both events.

The SVC 1600m relay squad of Craig Anderton, Hooper, Shane Anderton, and Alex Krupey entered the SVC record books with a time of 3:29.14, good for fifth place on the day.

As a team, the Bearcats took sixth place, with a score of 44.5, despite fielding participants in nine of a total 19 events.  Carnegie Mellon took the overall team title with a score of 144.

The Bearcats return to action on Tuesday, taking part in a Presidents' Athletic Conference quadrangular at Grove City College.
