McCarl Gallery at SVC Dedicated at Grand Opening

More than a hundred family and friends of the late Foster McCarl attended the blessing and dedication of the Foster and Muriel McCarl Coverlet Gallery at Saint Vincent College on July 23 during the grand opening reception for a special exhibit of historic coverlets and bridal gowns, Orange Blossoms and Lace: Victorian Bridal Traditions. Among the program participants were, from left, Rev. Paul R. Taylor, O.S.B., master of ceremonies; Lauren Lamendola, curator of the Collection; Brian McCarl; James McCarl, president of the McCarl Foundation; Rt. Rev. Douglas R. Nowicki, O.S.B., archabbot of Saint Vincent Archabbey and chancellor of Saint Vincent College; and Br. Norman W. Hipps, O.S.B., president of Saint Vincent College. The exhibition of coverlets, vintage gowns and other bridal accessories, will be on display until November 4 in the Gallery at the Fred M. Rogers Center on campus.
