SVC Singers, Faculty Choir Present First Advent Festival

The Saint Vincent College Singers and the Saint Vincent College Faculty Chorus, under the direction of Thomas Octave, assistant professor of fine arts and chairman of the music department, presented the first Advent Festival for the Saint Vincent community on Wednesday, December 7 in the Mary, Mother of Wisdom Student Chapel in the Robert S. Carey Student Center.

The program included readings by Fr. Killian Loch, O.S.B., carols and music for Advent and Christmastide including E’en So Lord Quickly Come (Paul Mantz), Ave Maria (Javier Busto), Away in a Manger, Cantate Domino (Croce), Gabriel’s Oboe (Morricone), and The Lord Bless and Keep You (Rutter), as well as greetings from Archabbot Douglas R. Nowicki, O.S.B.

Performing with the Faculty Choir were Dr. Daniele Arcara, Dr. Paul Follansbee, Dr. Karen Kehoe, Dr. James Kellam, Dr. George Leiner, Dr. Olivia Long, Ms. Sandra Quinlivan, Ms. Colleen Reilly, Dr. Cynthia Walter, Dr. Margaret Watkins, and Dr. Carla Zema.
