Matthew L. Orzechowski, senior biology major with a minor in psychology of Erie, has been named to the 2011 edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges and was recognized as an outstanding campus leader during the annual Saint Vincent College Founders’ Day Vespers and Honors Convocation Thursday, November 17 in the Archabbey Basilica.
Mr. Orzechowski, son of Martin and Angela Orzechowski, serves as a Residence Life prefect and president of the Life Sciences Club. He is a member of the Journal Club-Boyer Biological, Habitat for Humanity and the Saint Vincent football team. He served as a Student Government Association Bonaventure Hall representative. He is a 2008 graduate of McDowell High School.
The Who’s Who students are selected by campus nominating committees and editors of the annual directory on the basis of their academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success. They join an elite group of students selected from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and several foreign nations. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
