The Saint Vincent Gallery will present An Exhibition of Art July 28 through August 19. The exhibition is comprised of over 65 original Lithographic and Giclée prints from the private collection of Art Rooney, Jr., and features some of the most famous sports figures in Pittsburgh Steelers football history.

The exhibition will be open 1:30 to 8 p.m. daily in The Saint Vincent Gallery, located in the Robert S. Carey Student Center on the Saint Vincent College campus in Latrobe. The exhibition is free and open to the public. The gallery is handicapped accessible.

The exhibition will run concurrently with Saint Vincent Summer Theatre production of The Chief and Pittsburgh Steelers Summer Training Camp.

The Chief is a one-man play written by Gene Collier and Rob Zellers that tells the story of Art Rooney, Sr., the legendary founder of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Chief spins a colorful American saga—full of faith, love, and laughter.

It runs July 28 to August 19 and is presented by the Saint Vincent Summer Theatre, a professional Actors Equity theatre, in the Robert S. Carey Performing Arts Center.

Theatre tickets and information are available at http://svst.org or by calling the Box Office at 724-537-8900.

The Art Exhibition includes Lithographic and Giclée prints by renowned sports artists Merv Corning, Denny Karchner, Ron Mahoney, and Heather Rooney. They are a gift of Saint Vincent College alumnus Art Rooney, Jr., (C’57), son of the legendary founder of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

More information is available at http://gallery.stvincent.edu or 724 805-2107.

The Art Rooney, Sr., Student Scholarship Fund was established in 1988 as a tribute to the legendary founder. The Scholarship provides tuition assistance to students with need. Since its establishment it has helped more than 150 students. Gifts to the Art Rooney, Sr., Student Scholarship Fund at Saint Vincent College continues the legacy of Art Rooney, Sr., whose values of faith, family, and genuine care for those in need will help future generations of students.
