SVC Student Named Judicial Intern

United States Magistrate Judge William H. Baughman, Jr., right, of Cleveland, Ohio, installed Saint Vincent College senior finance and politics major Thomas Cocchi, left, as a judicial intern to serve in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Mr. Cocchi is a senior business major from Pittsburgh (Mount Lebanon). Judge Baughman is a 1971 graduate of Saint Vincent College.

Mr. Cocchi is the current president of the Student Government Association Executive Board and had been active in student government for five previous semesters.

Mr. Cocchi is also a member of The Company, the college’s student-run theatre group, a residence hall prefect, secretary of the Ultimate Frisbee Club and a member of the Dean’s List.

A member of Holy Wisdom R.C. Latin Mass Community (Diocese of Pittsburgh), he is also a member of the Knights of Columbus and has been recognized with the Shining Armor Award.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Cocchi, he is a 2009 graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School.

His future plans include further study in law school or pursuing a doctorate in political science.
