University of Pittsburgh Confucius Classroom at Saint Vincent College, SVC Loe China Studies Center and the London Confucius Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine will present a wellness road show of Chinese dancing, martial arts and music at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6 in the Performing Arts Center of the Robert S. Carey Student Center on the campus of Saint Vincent College. Admission is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome and no reservations are required.
According to Dr. Tina Philips Johnson, associate professor of history at Saint Vincent College and director of Saint Vincent College’s China Studies Program, this traditional Chinese medicine showcase is a cultural immersion experience that will be performed by eight practitioners from the London School of TCM Confucius Institute.
The program will include a lion dance, Chinese kung fu performance and Chinese kung fu with weapons by Zhang Qulong, Wang Kexin and Yu Jinping; Chinese folk dance by Han Tingting and Gao Han; and Chinese traditional musical instruments by Zhao Yunjian.
