Forty-four Saint Vincent College juniors and seniors were inducted into the Pennsylvania Nu chapter of Alphi Chi, a national college honor society recognizing scholarship in all academic disciplines, during a ceremony at the Fred M. Rogers Center on Nov. 30.
Zachary Tackett, president, presided at the induction assisted by Briana Pocratsky, vice president, Joshua Catalano, treasurer, and Abigail Geisel, secretary.
Ms. Alice Kaylor, dean of studies and sponsor of the chapter, announced the new members. Remarks were offered by Dr. John Smetanka, vice president for academic affairs and academic dean. Invocation and benediction were given by Dr. John Aupperle, lecturer in theology and campus minister.
Chapter advisors include Dr. Doreen Blandino, professor and chairperson of the department of modern and classical languages; Br. Albert Gahr, O.S.B., assistant professor of biology; Dr. Jeffrey Godwin, associate professor of management; Dr. Timothy Kelly, professor and chairperson of the department of history; and Dr. Margaret Watkins, assistant professor of philosophy.
