Justin A. Teets of Vanderbilt (Fayette County) was installed as the new president of the Saint Vincent College Student Government Association Executive Board for 2013 at a formal gavel-passing ceremony at the Fred M. Rogers Center on campus Dec. 2.

Teets received the gavel from current SGA president Thomas F. Cocchi, Jr., a finance and politics major from Mt. Lebanon. The oath of office was administered by Bridget Fitzpatrick of Upper St. Clair, president of the senior class.

A 2011 graduate of Connellsville Area High School, Teets is the son of Bill and Theresa Teets. A sophomore politics major with minors in economics and criminology, law and society, he has served as president of his freshman and sophomore classes and was named SGA member of the year in 2011-2012. He is a member and president of the College Republicans, serves as an admission ambassador, student photographer for the office of public relations and is the student-alumni relations committee chair.

Also installed were Tanner C. Beal of Hagerstown, Maryland, vice president; Robert (Bo) Tokarski II of Pittsburgh (Beechview), treasurer; and Loretta Bobetich of Duncansville, secretary.

Br. Norman W. Hipps, O.S.B., president of Saint Vincent College, gave remarks. Members of the SGA, parents and administrators were present for the ceremony and dinner.
