York Catholic Senior Alexander Pawlikowski Celebrates $160,000 SVC Wimmer Scholarship with Family

Alexander T. Pawlikowski, center, of Windsor, a senior at York Catholic High School, was awarded the top prize of a full tuition, room and board scholarship valued at $160,000 in Saint Vincent College’s annual Wimmer Scholarship Competition, on January 9. Among those participating in a celebration of the award were, from left, Shawn Gouch, admission counselor at Saint Vincent; Nick Pawlikowski (a senior at York Catholic and Alexander’s twin brother); Chris Pawlikowski (mother), Gregory Pawlikowski (father), and Arlene and Ted Pawlikowski (grandparents from Northern Cambria). Alex is also the grandson of Nancy Seliga and the late Joseph Seliga of Ebensburg. Alex plans to major in pre-medicine in pursuit of his career goal of becoming a neurologist. Pawlikowski has been active in varsity soccer at York Catholic as well as the United Parish Soccer Club where he also served as an assistant coach. He is a volunteer with the Catholic Harvest Food Pantry and worked as setup coordinator with the Saint Joseph Parish Bingo. A member of the honor roll, he is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. He is enrolled in both advanced placement calculus and advanced placement chemistry at York Catholic.
