Dr. Huili Zheng, Dr. Tinting Guo Author Articles

Dr. Huili Zheng, assistant professor of Chinese, and Dr. Tingting Guo, visiting Hanban assistant professor of Chinese, of the Modern and Classical Languages Department in the Saint Vincent College School of Humanities and Fine Arts, have authored articles in several publications.

Dr. Zheng had an article, “Enchanted Encounter: Gender Politics, Cultural Identity and Sino-Western Romance by Wang Tao,” accepted for publication in Nan Nü: Men, Women, and Gender in China. She also had an article, “A Negative Poetics: Desire and Death in the Xiuxiang Jin Ping Mei,” published in Tamkang Review, 43.1 (December, 2012), and another, “Gendering Other: Representation of Foreigners in Yesou puyan,” published in Sino-Platonic Paper, no. 233 (November, 2012).

Dr. Zheng co-authored an article with Dr. Guo: “A Study on the Modal Particle ‘ne’ and ‘ne’ Interrogative Sentence from Information-parsing Perspective,” in The 12th Chinese Lexical Semantics Workshop Proceedings (pp. 621-633, Springer, Heidelberg, 2013).

She is organizing a panel presentation, “Imagining the Foreign in Late Imperial China,” for the Association for Asian Studies Annual Conference in San Diego in March.
