Greensburg Central Catholic Team Wins Pasta Engineering Contest at SVC

A team of four students from Greensburg Central Catholic High School was first place winner in the seventh annual pasta engineering contest at Saint Vincent College March 4 sponsored by Carbone’s Restaurant and the Herbert W. Boyer School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computing at Saint Vincent. The GCC bridge held a total of 26 pounds and 4 ounces before it collapsed. Posing with their trophy presented by Vincent Mangini (left) of Carbone’s and Br. Norman W. Hipps, O.S.B. (right) of Saint Vincent, were, from left, Eryka Verenna, Daniel Seamans, Nina Kikel and Hannah Uebele. Thirty-four teams from nine area high schools competed at the Fred M. Rogers Center. The competition is designed to increase high school students’ awareness about the role engineering plays in their lives.
