Twelve alumni of the former Saint Vincent Preparatory School will be honored during Prep Alumni Reunion Weekend 2013 at a 6 p.m. dinner on Saturday, June 1 at the Fred M. Rogers Center at Saint Vincent College.
This year’s honorees include Prep Hall of Fame awards to Albert M. Dotson, P’56, of Lakeland, Fla.; Ernest P. Guter, P’64, of Newark, Ohio; Rev. Paschal N. Kneip, O.S.B., P’43, C’48, S’51 (posthumous) of Chincoteague, Va.; David Momper, P’70, C’74, of Irwin; Daniel F. Rafferty, P’56, C’62, of Latrobe; Stephen G. Rodkey, P’63, of Woodbridge, Va.; Robert D. Rudiselle, P’53, C’58, of Latrobe; Anthony T. Serra, P’62, C’66, of Hartland, Wis.; and Peter J. Serzikas, P’64, of West Palm Beach, Fla. Alumnus of Distinction Awards will be presented to Attorney Paul W. Fish, P’51, of Somerset; and Ronald J. Lieb, D.D.S., P’51, C’56, of Indiana. A Service Award will be given to Robert L. Kasperik, P’64, of Derry.
The reunion activities include blessing of the Prep Lab in the Sis and Herman Dupré Science Pavilion, presidential welcome by Br. Norman W. Hipps, O.S.B., Benedictine Sisters German buffet and team sports recognition on Friday evening, May 31. Activities on Saturday, June 1 include breakfast with the Benedictines, campus tours, storytelling, picnic lunch, state of Saint Vincent address by Archabbot Douglas R. Nowicki, O.S.B., viewing of the Saint Vincent video commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Saint Vincent fire of 1963, alumni memorial mass and the alumni awards dinner and social. A farewell brunch will close out the weekend on Sunday, June 2.

Albert M. Dotson
After graduating from Saint Vincent Preparatory School, Albert M. Dotson earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from West Virginia University. He is now retired after a career as a senior mechanical engineer and project engineer. He continues to be active as a member of the board of directors of Santa Fe Catholic High School in Lakeland, Fla., as secretary and president-elect of the Rotary Club of Lakeland North, as vice president of the Lakeland Sister Cities organization, as a 3rd and 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and as a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Lakeland. He has been honored with numerous honors and awards including being named Rotarian of the Year, member of Pi Tau Sigma national mechanical engineering honorary fraternity and recognition as a distinguished military graduate and U.S. Army commissioned officer after active and reserve service. In his spare time he enjoys photography, travel, computer technology and attending and watching sports. He and his wife, Nancy, have three sons, Albert, Anthony and Mark.
Ernest P. Guter
Ernest P. Guter earned a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from John Carroll University and a master of science degree in polymer science from Case Western Reserve University. Now retired, he served his entire professional career with one company, Owens Corning, a building materials manufacturing company where he primarily worked as an industrial scientist with inorganic materials. He had experience in silicate glass making using raw materials and glass compositions suited for making fibrous glass. He has been a member of Alpha Sigma Nu honor society, American Society for Testing and Materials, American Ceramic Society, the Glass Manufacturing Industry Council and the North American Insulation Manufacturers Association. In his spare time, he enjoys photography and volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and the local food bank. He and his wife, Irene, live in Newark, Ohio.
Rev. Paschal N. Kneip, O.S.B.
Rev. Paschal N. Kneip, O.S.B., is a native of Pittsburgh who graduated from Saint Vincent Preparatory School in 1943. He received a bachelor of arts degree from Saint Vincent College in 1948 and completed his priesthood studies at Saint Vincent Seminary. He has also participated in continuing education programs at the Catholic University of America, Georgetown University and Villanova University. He entered the Benedictine monastic community of Saint Vincent Archabbey in 1945 and was ordained a priest in 1951. Most of his priestly life has been spent in the parish apostolate in Pennsylvania and Virginia. He has also taught in high schools in Georgia, Pennsylvania and Virginia. He has served as pastor of Saint Andrew Parish, Chincoteaque, Va. Since 2003. He has served on the Diocesan Priest Councils and the Executive Boards for the Dioceses of Greensburg and Richmond. He has also served on the Saint Vincent College Board of Directors and a number of other Archabbey assignments. Recognized with numerous awards and citations including the Christo Rey Award for loyal and dedicated commitment to the Hispanic community, he was named Seminary Alumnus of the Year in 1995 and a scholarship was established in his honor. He passed away on May 24, 2013 and will be honored posthumously.
After graduating from Saint Vincent Preparatory School, David Momper earned a bachelor of arts degree from Saint Vincent College and a master of science degree from California University of Pennsylvania. At the Prep, he served on student council and play varsity soccer and basketball. A Pennsylvania certified school psychologist, he is currently serving as director of special education in the Derry Area School District. In his spare time, he enjoys guitar, tennis, running, bonsai trees and his grandchildren. He and his wife, Michele, have four children, Jeremiah, Joel, Joshua and Jonathan.
Daniel F. Rafferty
After graduating from Saint Vincent Preparatory School where he was a two-sport athlete in basketball and football, Daniel F. Rafferty earned a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Saint Vincent College where his father, Bill Rafferty, was a teacher and coach. He is now retired from Latrobe Steel Company where he served in various capacities including assistant chief chemist, chief chemist, research chemist and senior advisor to the technical manager. He has served as a member of the school board, parish council, CYO basketball and softball coach, Boy Scouts cub master, Latrobe Jaycees, Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh and the American Society of Applied Spectroscopy. He is a member of Saint Vincent Basilica Parish where he serves as a Eucharistic Minister. In his spare time he enjoys gardening, photography, reading and do-it-yourself projects. He and his wife, Bonnie, have three children, Dan, Tim and Mike.
Stephen G. Rodkey
After graduating from Saint Vincent Preparatory School, Stephen G. Rodkey earned a bachelor of arts degree in English from John Carroll University and a master of science degree in industrial relations from West Virginia University. Rodkey is now retired after 37 years of service with the Department of Defense in personnel administration. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 8183 in Woodbridge, a member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and its choir. He is involved with the jazz program at Nova-Annandale Community College. He is also a board member of the Reunion Music Society. In his spare time he enjoys the promotion of jazz through vocal performance, attending baseball games, playing golf, swimming and running. He and his wife, Mary, have two children, Gavin and Scott, and one granddaughter.
Robert D. Rudiselle
A Prep grad who was in the National Honor Society and on the Honor Roll, Robert D. Rudiselle earned a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy from Saint Vincent College and did graduate work at Marquette University before entering the U.S. Army. He is now retired from a 25-year career with the American Linen Supply Company which he served as a route supervisor. He and his wife, Carole, have two children.
Anthony T. Serra
A top student in the Prep School, Anthony T. Serra performed with the school band and was a member of the Honor Roll. He earned a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Pittsburgh, a master of arts in English literature and a master of arts in industrial relations from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is retired after a career as a project manager for Schneider Electric in Paletine, Il. Active in Habitat for Humanity, he has also volunteered as an English tutor for non-English speaking immigrants. In his spare time he enjoys model railroading, recreational vehicle travel, music and reading. He and his wife, Patricia, have two daughters, Jennifer and Katherine.
Peter J. Serzikas
Peter J. Serzikas graduated from Saint Vincent Preparatory School in 1964 where he was a member of the Honor Roll, band, football team, all intramurals and a member of the Stage Guild. Serzikas earned a bachelor of arts degree from Gannon University in 1971. Now retired, he is the former director of public transportation for Carteret County, North Carolina. He enjoys watching golf, playing crossword puzzles and keeping in touch with friends via email and surfing the web.
Paul W. Fish
Paul W. Fish earned a bachelor of electrical engineering, master of electrical engineering and a juris doctor degree from George Washington University. He is an attorney with the firm of Rader Fishman and Graver. Named to Who’s Who in America, he has served as a corporate officer for five major corporations and is recognized as one of the leading patent attorneys in the nation. He enjoys sports and golf. He and his wife, Kay, love to travel. His wife, Jacqueline, is deceased. They have five children, Charles Edmund, Catherine, John and Jackie. He is a member of St. Raymond Church in Donegal.
Ronald J. Lieb
After graduating from Saint Vincent Preparatory School, Ronald J. Lieb attended the University of Pittsburgh Dental School. He is now retired from the private practice of general dentistry. He has been very active in support of Prep School and College projects including the Sis and Herman Dupré Science Pavilion and a variety of other projects at Saint Vincent. His late brother, Fr. Joel Lieb, O.S.B., was a professor of biology at Saint Vincent.
Robert L. Kasperik
Robert L. Kasperik graduated from Saint Vincent Preparatory School in 1964 and from the Duquesne University School of Pharmacy in 1969. He was formerly a member of numerous pharmaceutical organizations as well as community planning and zoning committees. He is a member of the Saint Vincent Alumni Council, Prep Reunion Committee and St. Rose Catholic Church where he serves as an usher and marriage preparation leader. In his spare time he enjoys gardening, landscaping, reading, history, railroading, sports and languages. He and his wife, Rosalie, have two children, Kathy and Jim.
