Saint Vincent College Concert Series will present eight musical performances featuring international music award winners during its 42nd season in 2013-2014.
“Our artists for the 2013-2014 Series will come from all across the globe to present a wide range of music,” commented Br. Nathan Cochran, artistic director. “There will be the outstanding classical performances you have come to love and expect, and there will be some performers who might be considered a bit more exotic for the Saint Vincent Concert Series.”
“The season will open with OC Times, a male a cappella vocal quartet, whose tight harmonies and appealing personalities will turn young and old into instant fans,” he continued. “The season will close with Kinan Azmeh’s CityBand, whose fusing of classical, jazz and Middle Eastern music will be mesmerizing. In between those two concerts will be six fantastic classical concerts with performers who are GRAMMY Award winners, Tchaikovsky Gold Medalists and winners of other major international music competitions. And if that is not enough, we will be presenting the legendary Eugenia Zukerman. The 2013-2014 Season will be impossible to forget!”
The schedule for the 2013-2014 Series includes OC Times, Saturday, Sept. 7; Ji-Yong, piano, Saturday, Oct. 5; the Parker Quartet, Saturday, Nov. 2; Eugenia Zukerman, flute, Saturday, Nov. 23; Julia Bullock, soprano, Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014; Manhattan Piano Trio, Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014; Mayuko Kamio, violin, Saturday, March 29, 2014; and Kinan Azmeh’s CityBand, Saturday, April 26, 2014.
All of the performances begin at 8 p.m. in the Robert S. Carey Student Center Performing Arts Center on the campus of Saint Vincent College. Continuing this season is a free shuttle between the parking areas and concert venue.
