Dr. Junlei Li, standing center, associate professor of psychology and faculty fellow at the Fred Rogers Center for Early Learning and Children’s Media at Saint Vincent College, welcomed Joanne Rogers, wife of the late Latrobe native Fred Rogers, as an honored guest “student” in his Childhood Development class on Sept. 12. Mrs. Rogers shared stories about her husband’s work with children for the Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood series on PBS, participated in a child-feeding demonstration, and stayed after class to sign gift copies of “Dear Mister Rogers, Did it ever rain in your Neighborhood?” for a long line of waiting students. Dr. Li’s lecture was illustrated with video segments from the television series and the Center’s current projects.
