Two SVC Students Installed as Judicial Interns

United States Magistrate Judge William H. Baughman, Jr., right, of Cleveland, Ohio, installed Kyrie Lokhaiser, left, and Gretchen Panchik, center, as judicial interns on Sept. 13 in the McKenna School Conference Room on the campus of Saint Vincent College.

Both of the students will serve during the fall semester in the United States District Court in the Northern District of Ohio. They are the latest Saint Vincent students to participate in a remote internship program between Judge Baughman’s office and Saint Vincent College. Instructional sessions are conducted by Webex videoconference and by telephone conference.

These internships were developed by Judge Baughman, a 1971 graduate of Saint Vincent College, with the cooperation of Fr. Rene Kollar, O.S.B., Dean of the Saint Vincent College School of Humanities and Fine Arts; Dr. Gary Quinlivan, Dean of the Alex G. McKenna School of Business, Economics and Government; Dr. Jason Jividen, assistant professor of politics; and Dr. Jerome Foss, assistant professor of politics.

Lokhaiser is a senior majoring in corporate finance with a minor in accounting from Butler. A graduate of Butler Area High School, at Saint Vincent she is secretary of the Finance Club, a member of the Mock Trial Team, a member of the Equestrian Club and Team, a member of the Orientation Committee, Delta Mu Delta national honor society in business administration, Pre-Law Society and the youth representative to the Pennsylvania Draft Horse and Mule Association. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leyne Lokheiser.

Panchik is a senior majoring in English from Worthington, Pa. A graduate of Ford City High School, she is a member of the dean’s list and is active at Saint Vincent as president of the Pre-Law Society, a member of the Sigma Tau Delta English honor society and English Club. She is the daughter of Judge and Mrs. James Panchik.
