Dr. Veronica I. Ent, associate professor and chairperson of education at Saint Vincent College, authored an article, Twentieth Century Visual Education: Early American Schools and the Stereograph, in the 2013 edition of The Country School Journal, a journal of the Country School Association of America.

“The article discusses the use of stereoscopes and stereographs in early education between 1906 and 1930,” Dr. Ent explained. “It provides a background of the Keystone View Company founded in Meadville and its influence in the early visual instruction movement in America. Pedagogical practices as well as techniques for using stereographs and viewers in early schools are discussed. The article connects with today’s modern visual movements of augmented reality and other three-dimensional media used in education.”

“The article is aligned with today’s advancements in natural user interfaces, virtual reality and educational technological advancements in education,” Dr. Ent concluded.
