The Saint Vincent College Alpha Lambda Delta chapter was awarded “The Order of the Torch Award” on Friday, Nov. 1.

Accepting the award on behalf of the Saint Vincent College chapter was Sarah Ank, president; Courtney Grondziowski, vice president; and Amanda Slowey, junior advisor.

The Order of the Torch is an annual award given by the service and academic-based honor society for first-year students to the most outstanding chapters of Alpha Lambda Delta in the nation. Each year, up to five chapters may be presented with the award, which recognizes service activities, membership services, communication and academic involvement. Application for the award is made by submitting a scrapbook that details the chapter’s activities. This is the fourth time the Saint Vincent chapter has been recognized.

Ank is a sophomore sociology major from Elizabeth; Grondziowski is a junior physics major from Crafton; and Slowey is a senior music major from Bethel Park.
