Thomas Octave, assistant professor of music and chair of the division of music in the Saint Vincent College School of Fine Arts, conducted the All Saints Festival of Music for Saint Andrew’s Parish and Music Guild.

He will also conduct lessons and carols for All Saints Day on Tuesday, November 1 at 8 p.m. with chorus, orchestra and soloists and the All Saints Festival Eucharist Schubert Mass in G on Sunday, November 6 with chorus, soloists and the Pittsburgh Festival Orchestra.

The All Saints Festival at St. Andrew’s is an annual event that combines sacred music, liturgy and art to celebrate the richness of the Solemnity of All Saints Day. Treated like an English music festival, it features several musical events, of which Mr. Octave has been invited to be the guest conductor. The Festival is in its eighth year and continues to grow. Previous conductors have included Andrés Cárdenes, concertmaster of the Pittsburgh Symphony, and Melissa McBride, former orchestra director at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
