SVC Singers, Faculty Chorus to Present First Advent Festival Dec. 7

The Saint Vincent College Singers and the Saint Vincent College Faculty Chorus, under the direction of Thomas Octave, assistant professor of fine arts and chairman of the music department, will present the first Advent Festival for the Saint Vincent community at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, December 7 in the Mary, Mother of Wisdom Chapel in the Robert S. Carey Student Center.

The program will include readings by Br. Norman W. Hipps, O.S.B. and Fr. Killian Loch, O.S.B., carols and music for Advent and Christmastide including E’en So Lord Quickly Come (Paul Mantz), What Sweeter Music (John Rutter), Ave Maria (Javier Busto), Away in a Manger and O Come, O Come Emanuel, as well as greetings from Archabbot Douglas R. Nowicki, O.S.B.

Performing with the Faculty Choir are Dr. Daniele Arcara, Dr. Paul Follansbee, Dr. Karen Kehoe, Dr. James Kellam, Dr. George Leiner, Dr. Olivia Long, Ms. Sandra Quinlivan, Ms. Colleen Reilly, Dr. Cynthia Walter, Dr. Margaret Watkins, Dr. Carla Zema.

Admission is free. A reception will follow in the Student Lounge in the Robert S. Carey Student Center.
