Jocelyn S. Matenje, senior political science major and theology and sociology minors of Potomac, Maryland has been named to the 2011 edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges and was recognized as an outstanding campus leader during the annual Saint Vincent College Founders’ Day Vespers and Honors Convocation Thursday, November 17 in the Archabbey Basilica.
Ms. Matenje, daughter of Stephen and Isabella Matenje, is the vice president of the Saint Vincent International Students Union and a member of Campus Ministry and Activities Programming Board. Ms. Matenje is a member of the Dean’s List and is a member of the Women in Business Club. She has also participated in service trips to Canada and Alaska with Campus Ministry. She is a 2008 graduate of Edgemont High School in Scarsdale, New York.
The Who’s Who students are selected by campus nominating committees and editors of the annual directory on the basis of their academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success. They join an elite group of students selected from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and several foreign nations. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
