Seventy-five top students in their freshman year of study at Saint Vincent College were inducted into the college’s chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta, a national academic honor society, at a formal initiation service on March 31 at the Fred M. Rogers Center.

Saint Vincent College has had a campus chapter since 1994 to honor excellent academic achievement by students in their first year of study in higher education. Members participate in numerous service projects throughout the year.

The initiation service was coordinated by Alice J. Kaylor, dean of studies and administrative advisor; Dr. John J. Smetanka, vice president for academic affairs, academic dean, and faculty advisor; and chapter officers Joseph Yusko, president; Rachel Zaffina, vice president; Kayla Kuntz, secretary; Kathleen Sigg, treasurer; Marla Crawford and Rebecca McGrail, editors; Erica Alcibiade and Natalie Woodruff, historians; Zachary Tackett, junior advisor; and Taylor Guido, senior advisor.

Dr. Smetanka gave the keynote address.
