A cooking demonstration utilizing the fruits of local harvest will be the next Saturday at the Barn program at the Winnie Palmer Nature Reserve at Saint Vincent College from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3. Suzie D’Amico will present menu ideas appropriate for Thanksgiving meals and for persons of all ages. Admission is free and open to the public without reservations.
Mrs. D’Amico will demonstrate how she prepares many dishes using her own garden harvest and local produce. She will share the healthy recipes that she enjoys preparing for her husband and three sons.
The demonstrations will include apple crisp using produce from Schramm’s Farm, cranberry gorgonzola salad, kale with caramelized purple onions and a mystery fall recipe.
Participants will be invited to enjoy an autumn walk along the Reserve’s 1.5 mile nature trails after the program.
